Terms & Conditions
These terms are the agreement between you and pearentup when you use our website and app. By creating an account or using pearentup, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
Note for the founders: items marked “[to confirm]” need a real value before launch, and these terms should be checked by a solicitor.
1. Who can use pearentup
- You must be 18 or over [to confirm: minimum age] to create an account.
- You agree to give accurate information and to keep your login details secure.
- One account per person, please.
2. What pearentup is — and isn't
pearentup is a peer-support community. Members share their own experiences and opinions. It is not a substitute for professional advice. Nothing on pearentup is medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and we don't check that what members say is accurate. For anything affecting your health or your child's health or safety, please speak to a qualified professional.
In an emergency, or if you or someone else may be at risk, contact your local emergency services straight away. pearentup is not a crisis service and cannot provide urgent help.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us permission to display and share your content within pearentup so the community can work. You're responsible for what you share, and you agree you have the right to share it.
4. Being a good member
pearentup only works if it stays kind and safe. You agree not to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other members.
- Post hateful, discriminatory, or deliberately harmful content.
- Share content that is unlawful, or that sexualises, endangers, or exploits children.
- Share others' private information, or impersonate anyone.
- Spam, advertise, or use pearentup to sell to members [to confirm: any commercial rules].
- Post graphic, explicit, or otherwise inappropriate material.
If you see something that doesn't feel right, please use the report option.
5. Moderation
We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the community at risk. As a small, growing community, moderation may not be instant, but we take safety seriously and review reports as quickly as we can.
6. Your account
You can leave at any time by closing your account. We may also end or limit your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or where we need to for legal or safety reasons.
7. Availability
We work hard to keep pearentup running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or pause features as the product develops.
8. Our responsibility to you
Because pearentup is a free peer-support community, we provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the actions or advice of other members, or for losses arising from your use of the community. [to confirm with solicitor: liability and disclaimer wording, especially given health-related discussion.]
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as pearentup grows. If we make significant changes, we'll let members know, and continuing to use pearentup means you accept the updated terms.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales [to confirm], and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction.
